With the holiday season in full swing, there is nothing more appropriate than creating colourful nail art design that will match your cheerful and happy mood! If today is one of these days when you are sitting alone at home and have absolutely nothing to do, then why don’t you try creating this chevron colorblocking nail art tutorial!
Step 1: Apply a base of white nail polish on all of your nails to give a nice shine and a smooth surface for the nail art. Allow enough time for the layer to dry completely. Grab a base coat that is a good quality and apply it on your nails. Using even strokes, paint every nail from the cuticle edge to the tip. Base coats not only extend the life of your manicure, but also prevent dark colours from staining your nail beds.
Step 2: Place your chevron decal or tape on the middle of the nail, parting two sections diagonally.
Step 3: Select two vibrant colours, like pink and orange, to fill in the spaces between the chevron tapes. For best results, work on each nail individually at a time. This will make the whole process easier for you.
Step 4: Apply the other colour to fill in the rest of your nail. Paint two to three layers to make your nail colour pop.
Step 5: Gently remove the tape. The chances are you may have messed up a time or two with the nail polish. If necessary, you can clean up the skin around your nail with a Q-Tip dipped in polish remover.
Step 6: As a final step, apply a topcoat of clear polish to all of your nails. Here is an amazing trick: add a topcoat onto your nails daily to protect your colourful art manicure from chipping and cracking.
