Dark spots or hyper-pigmentation is a skin problem that can affect men and women of all ages, and can be very embarrassing and make people self-conscious. They are usually caused by excessive production of melanin in the human body. People who have darker skin are more prone to have this skin problem. Dark spots won’t clear up quickly, and sometimes it can take a combination of preventative measures, corrective products and procedures to keep our skin looking the way we want it to look. These are the most common reasons for their appearance: exposure to sunlight, history of skin inflammation, hormonal imbalance, pregnancy, Addison’s disease, lack of sleep, too much stress, etc.
