In regards to beauty and fashion, popular trends will always go in and out of style. Many of these trends will inevitably come full circle, like how ’90s chokers, leather jackets, and vintage rocker tees are currently all the rage. We pray that other trends, like shoulder pads and ’80s perms, remain locked away in the style time capsule for good. It makes sense that clothing, hair, and makeup fads will eventually be deemed “unfashionable” as the style scene changes and evolves. But what about a body part? Can a natural part of the human body really be labeled “out of fashion”? According to the December issue of British Vogue, the answer is absolutely. In Kathleen Baird-Murray’s “Desperately Seeking Cleavage,” the author suggests that the revival of high necklines in celebrity fashion, paired with undesirable comments on social media for women who choose to show off their bodies, has led to cleavage no longer being stylish. This claim has unsurprisingly led to a certain amount of uproar. Do you think cleavage can be deemed unfashionable?

A poll conducted by British Vogue asked women their opinions on covering up the cleav. I wasn’t shocked to see 67% of voters answered with, “If you have it, flaunt it.”

Whatever the neckline trends are in celebrity fashion right now, I think that it honestly just doesn’t matter. I’m with the 67% percent of other voters out there; if you’ve got it, flaunt it! Let’s take a look at some celebrities who are comfortable and confident about showing off the girls.

It’s no secret that Emily Ratajkowski has a totally rockin’ body. I love that she shows off her figure (including risque amounts of cleavage!) in whatever outfits she wants.
