Common and annoying, blackheads occur when your pores become clogged with excess sebum (an oil created by the sebaceous glands that keeps skin supple) and dead skin cells. The difference between a black head and a white head is simply whether or not the pore is open or closed.
If the pore is open, the plug of sebum/skin cells oxidizes as it is in contact with the oxygen in the air, which turns it black. Blackheads are not caused by dirt. Let’s make that clear from the beginning.
Tomatoes – Cut them and massage your face for 5-10 minutes. Squeeze the tomatoes or mix them with some honey or lemon juice, applying it on the affected area and letting it stay for 20 minutes.
Lime and lemon – Just apply a freshly squeezed lemon juice on your face and apply it on your face, letting it stay overnight. Once you wake up, rinse it off with lukewarm water. If you r skin is sensitive, then you need to wash it off immediately. Make sure not to expose the skin to direct sunlight since the lemon is photosensitive (susceptible to burns). You may mix it with some honey o make an exfoliation, or yogurt for extremely oily skin. Massage the skin gently for 10 minutes and then rinse it off.
Potatoes – place peeled potatoes in a bowl and add some water. When the mixture is thick enough, apply it on the face and let it act for 10 minutes. Rinse it off with warm water afterwards.
Baking soda –Make a mixture of 2 tbsp. of baking soda and 3 cups of boiled water. Pour the water over the baking soda powder and let it dissolve. First, hold a tower over your head while leaning over steam in order to maintain the required amount of baking soda. Then, cover your face with a towel and hold it for 10 minutes. Repeat the process couple of times if the towel is dry.
Aloe Vera – Apply the gel directly on the skin, but avoid the area around your eyes.
Cucumber – it is an anti-inflammatory agent which can remove acne and blackheads. Just peel the cucumber and place it in a blender. Make a paste out of it and place it on your face. After 10 minutes, rinse it off with warm water. Repeat the procedure 2-3 times a week.
Mint – it contains natural analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. Just rub them on your skin and let it act for 5 minutes.
Egg whites – The egg whites can help you in the absorption of excess oil from the skin. Make a foamy texture from them and apply it on the affected area. Wait for 15 minutes and then use warm water to rinse it off. Practice the treatment once a week because it dries the skin.
Curd and black pepper – it eliminates and prevents the formation of blackheads. Mix 1 tsp of black pepper and curd and apply it on the affected area. Wait for a couple of minutes and once it dries. Rinse it off with warm water.
Oatmeal – it can draw out a great amount of fat and oil form the skin. Prepare it just like for consumption and let it cool down, adding honey and applying it on your skin. Let it act for 10 minutes and then wash it off. Repeat the treatment on a regular basis. You may make a mask of oatmeal and yogurt, by mixing 3 tbsp. of yogurt, 2 tbsp. of oatmeal, and 1 tsp of lemon juice. Apply it on your face and let it act for 10 minutes. Use warm water to rinse it off. Do not use it more than 2 times per week.
